BLEEP project- Digital inclusion to promote reintegration

Implementing a b-learning platform for prisoners in Europe while developing the digital and lifelong learning skills of prison staff

The kick-off meeting of BLEEP project took place in Utrecht, The Netherlands, on the 1st and 2nd of October 2019.

BLEEP stands for Blended Learning Environment for European Prisoners. The project is about digital inclusion in the broadest sense; it foresees the creation and implementation of an innovative, creative, Europe-focused blended learning platform for all prisoners and ex-prisoners.

This project will contribute to the prison staff (e.g.: teachers, mentors, social workers, psychologists, reintegration coaches) professional development through supporting the reintegration of prisoners into society just before they are released from prison.

The project consortium is composed of partners from The Netherlands (Click F1, Chains, Stichting Exodus Zuid-Holland and EPEA – European Prison Education Association), Portugal (IPS Innovative Prison Systems and DGRSP – Direção Geral de Reinserção e dos Serviços Prisionais), Turkey (Kocaeli Open Correctional Institution), Italy (STEPS) and Romania (Bucharest-Jilava prison).
