Prison staff training on mental health, aging, and palliative care

Professionals from Belgium, Romania, and Portugal gathered in Bucharest, between the 23rd and the 27th of April, 2018, to discuss and be trained on how to deal with mental illness, geriatrics, and palliative care in prisons.

This course takes place within the framework of MenACE project which aims at increasing the response to the mental health disorders that generally affect the prisons’ population; the response to the growth trend of ageing; and the quality of palliative and end of life care provided in prisons, by enhancing the competences of both management and frontline staff.

The participants were medical staff, psychologists, social workers, criminologists, and also professionals in managerial positions.
